My family is pretty mad at me.

Last week, I had my son and his family over here for dinner.

We ate some good food. I lit the fire pit. We had a good conversation.

It was turning out to be a great night.

However, the mood was quickly ruined.

My five-year-old grandson swallowed one of my wife's AirPods.

The mood of the house changed dramatically. Everybody got anxious and worried, including me.

Now, I've learned over the years that panicking doesn't help anything.

We need to act with urgency, yes.

But it doesn't mean that we need to be completely riddled with stress and anxiety in the process.

So to lighten the mood, I connected my AirPods to my phone and put my ear on my grandson’s stomach to see if I could hear.

Surprisingly, I actually did hear a little sound coming from inside his belly. Which made me and him chuckle.

But as I raised my ear up from his belly and looked around the room, nobody was smiling.

I mean, nobody.

If looks could kill, I'd have been dead three times over.

I explained my point. I let them know I was taking this seriously.

However, I was just trying to lighten the mood so that my grandson wouldn't be as worried.

But nobody saw the humor except my grandson and me.

Was I wrong for this?

Let me know and enjoy your Sunday!
