Somebody is selling a house that doesn't exist.

I came across a listing this week that had me squinting at my phone like a man who forgot his glasses.

The picture on the listing shows a nice place. Fresh paint, green grass, straight lines, the whole deal.

The actual house looks like it lost a fight.

Somebody ran that photo through one of these AI programs and cleaned it up. And I do mean cleaned. They didn't touch up a picture. They built a different house.

Now look, I'm not one of these old men out here hollering at the sky about technology. AI is here. It's going to be used for all kinds of things, most of which I won't understand and won't be around long enough to see.

And touching up a photo is nothing new. Realtors have been shooting from flattering angles since before I could remember.

But this isn't a touch-up. This is a flat-out lie.

Here's what I can't figure out. What's the point?

Somebody sees that picture on Zillow, gets excited, drives out there on a Saturday, pulls up to the curb, and now you've got an angry buyer sitting in the driveway checking the address twice.

You didn't sell a house. You wasted two people's afternoon.

My wife told me to settle down because I'm not even in the market for a house. She's right. I'm not. I just don't care for being lied to on principle, even about a place I'll never set foot in.

I'm also pretty damn sure this has got to be illegal. Somewhere in all that fine print, somebody is breaking a rule.

Am I wrong here? Is this just how it's done now, or is somebody about to get sued?

Let me know, and enjoy your Sunday!
