My buddy's wife is preparing for a scurvy outbreak.
I got a text from a buddy Tuesday afternoon. No words. Just a picture.

I stared at it for a good minute. Then I texted back, "What in the hell am I looking at?"
He said, "Lemons. She got a deal."
Now let me be clear about something. I respect a bargain. I've spent a good chunk of my life wandering the aisles of Ross and TJ Maxx.
I own shirts that cost less than the coffee I drank while buying them.
His wife has always been a deal hunter, and I've always admired that about her. Some people spend money. That woman manages it.
But y'all.
This whole damn fridge is just lemons.
Top shelf. Bottom shelf. The drawer where the vegetables are supposed to go. I think I saw a couple wedged in the door where the butter lives.
I asked him what the plan was. He said he didn't know. He said he opened the fridge looking for a beer, saw that, closed the door, and just stood there for a while.
So I started helping him brainstorm.
Lemonade stand? He could hydrate Texas for the rest of the month.
Lemon pie? He may need a couple more wives and a few more ovens to make them all.
He did not find that as funny as I did.
Here's the thing. I get it. When something is 10 cents apiece, your brain does a little math and says "this is basically free."
What your brain does not do is ask where the hell you're going to put 200 of them.
A good deal on something you don't need is not a good deal in my opinion. It's just a fancy way to waste money.
I told my wife about it that night. She looked at me and said, "Says the man with four fishing rods he's never used."
I didn't have a comeback for that.
What's the most ridiculous thing someone in your house bought because "it was on sale"?
Enjoy your Sunday!
