My best friend’s daughter almost got fired from work this week for sneaking liquor into the office. 

My best friend and I meet up at least once every 2 weeks for a whiskey.

Last Saturday, we were sitting in his man cave watching some college football.

When the game hit halftime, he told me a funny story.

He told me that his daughter is an alcoholic.

I looked at him like he had two heads.

Then he started laughing.

He said, "Actually, my daughter got called into HR because somebody reported her sneaking alcohol into the office."

I said, "That's not like her. Even when we have holiday parties, she barely drinks."

He said, "Exactly."

However, somebody reported her for putting liquor in her coffee.

Again, I looked at him, confused.

When HR called her into the office, she said she was highly confused. Then it hit her like a ton of bricks.

Whoever had reported her must have thought that this coffee sweetener was liquor.

Me and my buddy just started laughing. I thought the situation was funny but it got me thinking. 

In my short stint in corporate America, I saw people drinking in the office, but I never reported them. You don't bother me; I'm not bothering you. 

If you saw somebody sneaking liquor into their coffee, would you call HR? Please tell me why?

I'm genuinely interested.
