I really pissed off my grandkids. 

Recently, I went to visit my daughter for a couple of days to spend some time with the grandkids.

Now, I've always had a talent for getting under people's skin. It's a lifelong gift, really. 

My wife would say it's less of a gift and more of a personality disorder, but that's neither here nor there.

So one afternoon, my daughter asked me to make the kids sandwiches. Simple enough, right?

Wrong.

When I got into the kitchen, the requests started flying at me like I was taking orders at a damn deli.

"Pops, I want the crust cut off."

"Pops, cut mine diagonally."

"Pops, can you cut mine halfway through?"

I got tired of all the instructions.

So I cut the sandwiches like this:

I wish I had recorded the looks on their faces when I handed them those sandwiches.

Each one of them looked like they had just found a turd in their coffee.

It was priceless.

They did NOT like the joke. But I was cracking up. Tears in my eyes. The whole nine yards.

They even had the nerve to ask me to make them new sandwiches.

I gave them a "Hell naw."

My daughter didn't find this joke that funny either. She gave me one of those looks that reminded me of her mother.

But man, it made my day.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one with a sense of humor in this family.

What do you think? Should I have made the sandwiches again?
