I don’t think my self-esteem is ever going to recover from this.

My grandkids came to the house the other night for a sleepover.

They love coming here cause they know that Pops is going to feed them all the delicious stuff their health-conscious parents won't let them have 🤣

So I was setting everything up for a junk food-filled movie night. 

I had their favorite snacks laid out, sugary drinks well stocked, and the theater room had more blankets and pillows than a hotel.

Before we started the movie, I needed to respond to a buddy's text message.

I asked my granddaughter to pass me the phone. 

When she did, I noticed it was unlocked. My iPhone has Face ID on it. I had no clue how she unlocked it.

So I asked.

My granddaughter said, “I didn't unlock it. I found the phone under Betsy's butt. And then I gave it to you.”

Betsy is my dog. 

So then I told my granddaughter, "Let me be clear, you're telling me that Betsy’s butthole was on my phone and it unlocked it?" 

With the biggest grin ever, my granddaughter says, "Yes, Pops." 

Then I said this again, but a bit louder so that those around me could hear. “So you're telling me that my phone mistook Betsy's butthole for my face?”

Everybody in the room died laughing. 

My wife laughed a little too hard for my liking. 

The jokes that came my way that night were borderline disrespectful. 

However, the family had a great time that night……at my expense.
