I've never had so many issues with toilet paper placement.
A few weeks back, I told y'all about my daughter-in-law putting the toilet paper on the roll backwards. Some of you sided with me. Some of you sided with her.
A few of you told me to grow up (which I will never do).
Well, this toilet paper drama isn't done.
My grandson is staying with us for a bit. Good kid. Funny. Sweet as they come.
Common sense? Not a lick.
This is a boy who takes a shower before he mows the lawn.
I asked him about it one time and he said he "likes to start clean." I stopped asking him things after that. Some doors you just don't open twice.
So the other day I walk into the guest bathroom and I see this.

Not backwards. Not sideways.
The empty cardboard tube still on the holder. And the new roll just… sitting on top of it. Like a hat.
He had the new roll in his hand. He got within four inches of doing it right and just quit.
So I called him in there and asked him what in the hell I was looking at.
He looks at it. Then he looks at me. Then he says, "It's toilet paper, Pops."
I said, "Son, the tube is empty. Take it off. Put the new one on. That's the whole job."
And he says — I want you to hear this the way I heard it — "Why does it matter? It's still right there."
Then he looked at me like I was the one who was crazy.
Y'all, I stood there for a second. I opened my mouth. Nothing came out.
So I just walked off.
My wife asked me later what happened. I told her I lost an argument to a boy who showers before yard work.
She said, "Sounds about right."
Am I losing my mind here, or is putting a roll on a holder still considered a basic life skill?
Enjoy your Sunday!
