I royally pissed off the Mailwoman last week.

I happened to be outside when she was dropping off the mail. 

So, she and I chatted it up briefly. She told me about how she had just re-homed her dog. 

The dog kept chewing up things in her home. 

The last straw was when it chewed up some expensive earbuds.

So she put the dog in a kennel and dropped it off outside a local salon. 

She checked back later and found out the owners had decided to keep the dog.

So, she said the “re-homing” was a success. 

I looked her in the eye for what felt like hours.

I Was Dumbfounded

My inner voice told me to go back inside the house.

Before I could obey that inner voice, my mouth opened up.

I said “Ma’am, you didn’t successfully re-home nothing.”

I then said, “What you successfully did was abandon your dog. A dog who only misbehaved because it wasn't properly trained………...by you.”

She told me she did not need to be judged by me and blah…blah…blah.

It was at that point I realized the conversation was a waste of my time.

I would have better luck describing the color orange to someone who’s been blind their whole life. 

When she got done with her rant, I got my mail, told her to have a nice day, and went inside. 

Am I the crazy one here or is this how people “re-home” nowadays?
