Do you feel guilty saying no when the grocery store asks you to donate?

My granddaughter is coming over this weekend. 

If I don't have brownies ready for her, there will be hell to pay. 

So I went to the grocery store to get all the supplies. 

As I shopped for all my items, I couldn't help but notice how expensive everything was. 

Just to buy some eggs, I almost had to take out a loan.

On top of that, they make it hard to save money.

I used to just show a coupon and instantly get the discount.

Now, if I want to save pocket change on milk, I have to sign up for an app. 

After I got all my items, I went to check out. The first thing the cashier said was

“Would you like to donate $20 to end child hunger?” For some reason…….

I Got Pissed Off

There were people in line behind me. So if I say no, I look like the heartless a*sshole. 

If I say yes, then I defeat the purpose of doing all my coupon work. 

It was a lose-lose situation. So I opened my fat mouth and said,

“Ma’am, y’all are a multi-billion-dollar corporation. I’m clipping coupons to save 50 cents on milk. Why don’t YOU donate $20 to end child hunger?”

The cashier looked at me for a long second……..and then she just laughed.

Glad that cashier had a sense of humor. I wasn't sure where that convo was headed! 😅
